Refund Policy

Refund Policy – The Fourth Trimester Doula

At The Fourth Trimester Doula, we understand that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can bring unexpected changes. We strive to be fair while also respecting the time, commitment, and preparation that goes into providing high-quality doula care.

Payment Terms

  • Support Services must be paid in full before the commencement of services, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Refund Terms

Refunds are available under the following conditions:

If services are cancelled between the contract signing and either:

  • A. Two (2) weeks before the first scheduled Support Visit or

  • B. Four (4) weeks before the on-call period begins (for birth attendance),

then:

  • 50% of the total amount paid will be refunded,

  • 50% will be non-refundable, as it covers time, resources, and administrative costs already allocated.

If services are cancelled after the above time frames (A or B), no refunds will be issued.

Exceptional Circumstances

I, Jess (owner of The Fourth Trimester Doula), understand that life can be unpredictable. In exceptional or compassionate circumstances, I am open to discussing flexibility in this policy.

To request consideration for a refund outside of the standard terms, you must email me at 4thtrimesterdoulaservice@gmail.com.

Please note: Refund discussions must be in writing (email or text only) to ensure clarity and accuracy for both parties. Verbal or phone requests cannot be considered.

I kindly ask that you contact me as soon as possible if you believe your situation warrants special consideration.

Birth Attendance Policy

At The Fourth Trimester Doula, my commitment is to support you during your birth experience to the best of my ability. However, I also acknowledge that certain circumstances—both within and beyond my control—may impact my ability to attend the birth.

If I Am Unable to Attend Your Birth Due to My Own Circumstances (within the on-call period of 38 to 42 weeks)

In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend your birth due to reasons within my control, you will have the option to choose one of the following:

  • A 25% refund of your total birth package,
    or

  • An additional three (3) postpartum visits, added to your existing package at no extra cost.

If I Am Unable to Attend Due to Circumstances Outside of My Control

If I am unable to attend your birth due to reasons beyond my control, including but not limited to:

  • Hospital or health service restrictions preventing doula entry,

  • You giving birth before I am notified or able to arrive (e.g., very fast labours, birth in transit),

  • Lack of timely communication from you or your support person,

  • You give birth prior to 38 weeks gestation: While I will do my best to attend your birth if it occurs before your official on-call period, please understand that I am not formally on call for you until 38 weeks, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Attendance prior to this point is not guaranteed and is outside of my professional obligation.

 

 no refund will be issued. However, as a gesture of goodwill, I will offer one (1) additional postpartum visit at no charge.
